About Focke & Co.

Focke & Co. from Verden is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of packaging machines.
2,200 employees in the Focke Group work worldwide on technologically sophisticated packaging machines for the tobacco, hygiene and food industries. The Focke Group also includes companies from other technology segments such as adhesive application systems and automation technology.
Founded in 1955 by Dr. h. c. Heinz Focke in Bremen, the company developed into a market and technology leader in this segment with high-end packaging machines for the tobacco industry. To date, more than 20,000 machine solutions have been delivered to more than 120 countries.
The first milestone and the basis of today’s success was the development of the F3 machine in 1978. Through consistent further development and engineering on the edge of the “physical limit”, the packaging process could be accelerated from 350 to 1,000 cigarette packs per minute.
Focke & Co. also uses the know-how acquired and continuously developed in various high-end technologies for the packaging process to optimally promote synergies within the Group and to penetrate new markets. For example, Focke Packaging Solutions joined the Focke Group in the early 1970s. The company focuses on high-speed packaging machines as well as a broad portfolio of end-of-line machine solutions for various industries.
In 2016, the Group’s product and technology portfolio was expanded through the acquisition of Meler Gluing Solutions S.A. from Navarra, Spain. Meler is a manufacturer of adhesive and sealant application systems for the packaging, hygiene and automotive industries. In 2019, the promising automation technology segment was added with the acquisition of Hoyer Montagetechnik GmbH in Waltershausen, Germany. Hoyer is a supplier of specialized assembly systems for the automotive industry, the sensor market and medical technology. Its products are sold in more than 120 countries around the world through its own sales and service subsidiaries, with exports accounting for more than 90% of sales. In September 2020, the company Dara, based in Barcelona (Spain), joined the group in form of a minority holding. As a technology partner for the pharmaceutical, biotechnological and cosmetics industries, Dara offers various solutions for processing and filling products in liquid, semi-solid and powder form under sterile conditions. Together with the Focke Group, new solutions for the assembly and filling of products such as e-cigarettes will be created for the tobacco/nicotine business to be marketed by Focke & Co.
After the death of the company’s founder, the company was initially expanded further by his children Doris and Jürgen Focke. Meanwhile, the Focke Group is managed by an external management and led into the future. The Focke family in 2nd and 3rd generation still owns 100% of the company shares.
