Sparring partner for growth
When workshops move beyond the usual workspace: How Lonza ran a demanding global workshop at the German Centre Singapore
In the German Centre Singapore, Lonza successfully ran a three-week global workshop with more than 80 participants – using seven parallel rooms, modern plug-and-play technology and daily hospitality from a single source. Instead of worrying about rooms, technology and catering, Lonza was able to focus entirely on content and collaboration. The result highlights what DACH companies can expect from us: flexible space, hybrid-ready infrastructure and a partner who rolls up their sleeves and goes the extra mile.
The challenge: 3 weeks of workshops, hybrid, with 80 participants worldwide
Many companies in Singapore face the same challenge: for important strategy and project workshops, they need more space, more technology and more hospitality services than their own office can provide. At the same time, everything has to be professional, affordable and reliable – ideally over several days or even weeks. Lonza, the globally renowned Swiss pharma and biotech company, found itself in exactly this situation. For a particularly important global workshop with employees from all over the world – some on site in Singapore, others joining virtually – Lonza had very clear requirements:
Lonza is already present at three locations in Singapore, one located at the German Centre which was opened in 2025. Although it is called the German Centre, it is in fact much more: a home away from home for all companies from the German-speaking region that need an ecosystem in the region which, in addition to offices, offers everything a company needs in order to grow.
The solution: Tailor-made space instead of standard meeting rooms
In Singapore, suitable meeting space for multi-week setups like this is hard to find – and when it is available, it is often in hotels that charge a high premium.
To support the three-week global workshop, Lonza partnered with the German Centre Singapore to create a flexible setup for hybrid collaboration. But with these requirements, it was clear from the outset: a standard solution would not be enough. So we got creative:
The result: Working smoothly – instead of managing rooms and technology
For Lonza, it quickly became clear that this was the ideal solution: instead of spending months searching for suitable space or booking expensive alternatives, they had flexibly adaptable rooms, all in the same place and reserved for three weeks.
The fully equipped and comfortable environment at the German Centre was exactly what Lonza’s global teams needed in order to collaborate successfully.
What stood out for us was how the team at the German Centre Singapore worked alongside us to make this happen. They were flexible in adapting the spaces and made sure the technology supported our hybrid sessions smoothly. That meant our teams at Lonza could focus fully on the discussions and collaboration.

At the same time, this project is a prime example of what companies – from medium-sized businesses to global players – can expect from the German Centre: an active partner who thinks ahead, gets involved and offers creative solutions – and is willing to go the extra mile.
We are very pleased that Lonza is part of our community – and that we can support their growth journey in Singapore and beyond.
