About Ego Pharmaceuticals

Australian made and owned, QV Skincare is a true success story.

QV proudly takes its name from its close association with Australia’s iconic Queen Victoria Hospital.
QV Skincare is the brainchild of Ego Pharmaceuticals (Ego), which was founded in 1953 by young chemist, Gerald Oppenheim, and his wife, Rae, a nurse.
It was in response to a request from the dermatology ward of Melbourne’s iconic Queen Victoria Hospital, that Gerald Oppenheim created a specialist skincare product that would later become known as QV Bath Oil (named in honour of the hospital).

The QV range provides everyone with access to expert care they can depend on, specific to the changing needs of their skin. Manufactured to the highest pharmaceutical standards and free from common irritants that can irritate sensitive skin, our products range from clinical products that soothe problem skin to gentle skincare for everyday use.

At Ego, our expertise in caring for sensitive and delicate skin gives consumers extra confidence every day. So much so, QV has been trusted by generations to nourish and maintain healthy looking skin. There are now more than 50 QV products sold in more than 20 nations across the world. And with well over 50 million units sold, QV is as gentle for sensitive skin today as it was in 1975.
