"Where you can meet a business partner, a potential customer, or a friend – just next door."
Dominique Herold took over management of the German Centre Singapore in July 2020. A short interview about her motivation and her special workplace.
I am… Dominique Herold, the new Managing Director of the German Centre Singapore.
I like the German Centre Singapore because… it connects companies and people from different countries and industries, with various experiences and backgrounds. I feel like in the German Centre even competitors work and collaborate with each other; it is a place where you can meet a business partner, a potential customer, or a friend – just next door.
Being MD means… being part of an amazing team that is working very hard to support our customers with all their needs.
As an MD, the first thing I did… was enjoying the improvised lion dance, that the German Centre team performed to bring good luck and prosperity to the German Centre and all its tenants.
My most important target for the German Centre Singapore is… to continuously improve and develop our services and products according to the needs of our customers. Listening, understanding, and developing together new ideas and solutions we, the German Centre, can provide, is important for me, especially in these fast-paced and volatile times. German companies are so many and so varied and it’s my great pleasure to have the opportunity to accompany them here in Singapore.
I originally come from… Stuttgart. Though born in Chemnitz, I grew up in the beautiful “Schwabenlaendle” (engl. Swabia, a Region in Southern Germany).
My favourite dish from home is… freshly baked pretzel.
Thank you, Dominique - and good luck!
